Re: request for improv exercises...
Thu, November 16, 2006 - 3:46 AMi've learned so much by hanging out in circles with others who love to make sounds with the voice...any sound. .. . everyone can sing. .. sometimes warming up with making some funny sounds can assist with the process.
another: two people (a large group can separate into groups of two)
each person takes turns with singing one word that represents the moment
(repeat if desired)
then switch words, sing the word that the parther sang. .. mirrored back.
then, if in a large group, take turns singing one word each, round the circle, one word for each person, usually the partners word that has been mirrored.
( i learned these things from Chloe Goodchild, of the Naked Voice Foundation)
um. .. . what else. ..
sing without words. . .a good friend and i just figured that out one day when we were hanging out in my van up on a mountain in total bliss. it 's a fun way to communicate!
later, we both attended a womans circle gathering that was totally 'wordless' yet sounds were encouraged, song mostly! i and another friend cocreated another womans gathering just like it. .. .these are much encouraged by me : )
have fun! -
