hi friends!
well - i'm certain of one thing. we need to start jamming again. myself along with a couple special friends would like to start up a new vocal improv circle midway through january. there's still some details to firm up, especially when and where it'll take place - but i sure love sunday afternoon jams.
just starting the wheels in motion... hoping to spark up some discussions.

I was honored to have shared in your company during the vocal improv at Yoga Shala... It is so healthy to utilize our voice's potential and to share and support each other to sing and be full of life!
I would love to share more with you on these levels!
I could also offer up my space as a potential meeting ground for singers and/or musicians uniting!
Sunday afternoons work well with me too!

I must say, I'm drawn to making music with you. I really appreciate the balance of heart and mind that you communicate to me when you're talking music. Let's make some magic soon.
My intention now is to create an intimate vocal improv group to gather once a week - not advanced, but not beginner either. A group where facilitation rotates, and is not always necessarily present - where the jam has the opportunity to become whatever it wants to be with or without facilitation.
Nejmah, it'd be just fantastic to meet at your place. My place is ok, but not totally perfect for vocals.
I like the idea of Monday evenings, Thursday evenings and Sunday afternoons!
I hope we can fire up the discussion in this tribe

Feeling inspired to begin the exploration...
Everything you're saying is ringing true to me, and I'm sure there are others who will feel to get involved!
Thursday evening and Sunday afternoon would work well for me and this space.
The acoustics in my front room can be very supportive, as I'm sure we will find.
Maybe we could aim for next Thursday, and spread the word to some friends that we feel would be aligned with the vision of the group being created...
I appreciate the need to maintain a sense of intimacy where there can be an openness between those involved. I also feel the importance of everyone involved to come with the willingness to listen, as well as participate. I find that so much can be created when we are using our awareness.
Let's keep this discussion going, and I'm excited to sing with you, Bassie, and to all our other beloveds, who may read this, that are feeling inspired to tap into the magic we're going to create!

Either way, i think that sounds perfect, i soo want to develop my voice and sing with others who are into a similar free flowing vibration, communication of spirit, yippee! i just moved here a week ago and am beginning to discover the perfect julie-shaped nooks to relax myself into. it is wonderful to meet others who are interested in exploring sound and creation expressing being and the unity of this moment ever changing and flowing...

I feel open to creating a harmonious experience where the focus is on our voice, and using that force as an instrument in itself. I'm not sure where everyone is at in regards to how we will hold our energy as a group, but I am sure something beautiful will emerge.
Perhaps we can set a focus for Thursday to be that of a safe exploration into the realm of voice, as a group, and we can hear/see/feel where (or if) other instruments may have a place within it. I also appreciate how neccesary it is to warm up our voice through sound exercises and a bit of stretching... How does that sound?
Directions to my place are quite simple...if you're coming down Cook St, towards the Ocean, go through the village and turn LEFT on May St, and then RIGHT on Cambridge St. I live at 119 Cambridge St...Big white house with prayer flags flowing in the wind.
So, I'm sticking to 7pm on Thursday. Hope that works for everyone!

It just occured to me that Thursday is the TellnShow...
Perhaps we could meet a little earlier this Thursday tomake space to flow to the TellnShow. I'll be volunteering, so I need to get there by 8-ish. Perhaps we could meet around 5:30, and aim to get started at 6pm..

I was unaware that there will be a film showing, connected with the TellNShow, beginning at 4pm. The two films are about Venezuela, and there will be a discussion afterwards, along with other community-building workshops...
This sounds like something I would love to fully attend, so....I'm putting out there, that if we could reschedule our vocal connection for Sunday afternoon, that would be wonder-filled... Perhaps @ 3:33 on Sunday...?
Please, let's communicate about when would work best for each of us...

More and more, it looks like Sunday afternoon is our day.
That's awesome, because in the spring and summer we had an absolutely fantastic group that met on Sunday afternoons at about 3. Sweet!!
Shall we begin this weekend? I would really love that.
Nejmah if you can msg me your address etc I will put the word out. What size group are you comfortable with?

I don't feel too concerned with the group size. I think my living room could support around 20 people in a comfortable circle...if that gives you an idea of our meeting space.
