Aloha all my name is Devi, based in Hilo, Big Island, Hawai'i and am stoked to find this tribe.
I am an arts-educator for kids and youth and have a fun and exciting project coming up in February and March that I want to share with you all.
It's called Sound Inventorz and is all about vocal improv for a group of twelve 12-17 year olds. It's happening onstage at this old theater called the Palace in downtown Hilo. (The acoustics are amazing and we recently had an electronic music fest gala inside with a visiting dj Lion-S from BC.)
I have yet to teach such a class and I'm looking to get your input. Can you suggest any exercises that would be fun to employ with my class? I've taken workshops from Rhiannon and Bobby McFerrin so I'll definitely be incorporating what I've learned from them too.
